Never Feed Your Dog These Food Items Many foods that we humans eat are not safe and are actually harmful to dogs. Some food items can even be fatal to your canine companion. Here is a quick list of foods that the Humane Society lists as harmful and must never be fed to your dog.

Alcoholic beverages – Apple seeds, Apricot, Peach & Cherry Pits – Avocados – Candy – Especially chocolate – which is toxic to dogs, cats, and ferret also any candy containing the toxic sweetener Xylitol – Chives, Garlic, Onions, onion powder and onion flakes – Grapes and Raisins – Coffee- grounds, beans, & chocolate-covered espresso beans, Tea (because it contains caffeine) – Hops (used in home beer brewing) and Yeast Dough – Macadamia nuts & Walnuts – Moldy foods – Mushroom plants – Mustard seeds – Potato leaves and stems (green parts) – Rhubarb leaves – Salt – Tomato leaves and stems (green parts)
