We Share a Couple Kennel Training Pros to Answer Is Dog Kennel Training for You?
Only you can truly decide if the answer is yes or no for you and your dog.
Bringing home a new dog or puppy is exciting and maybe a bit scary. Some of the biggest questions new dog owners face are regarding the use of kennel and crate training. Is it good for your dog? Are they feeling confined or comfortable? How long is too long in a kennel, how do I help my dog feel safe and happy in their kennel home? At GYGO we believe in kennel training and use it at home and in our shop. We find the kennel becomes the dog’s safe place to relax and call their own.
With puppies, it is best to use the age in months as a rough guideline. A four-month-old puppy, for example, can be kennel crated for three to four hours at most. Grown dogs should be crated for no more than nine hours maximum.
